OUR MISSION

The Angellyh Yambo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to raise awareness in the community against the numerous acts of gun violence in The Bronx, New York, and across the nation.

The Angellyh Yambo Foundation is committed to the community and other nonprofit organizations that assist victims of gun violence with the goal of educating the public through awareness, youth programs/education, and prevention strategies in hopes of saving another innocent child from death by gun violence.

ABOUT THE ANGELLYH YAMBO FOUNDATION

The Angellyh Yambo Foundation was created in loving memory of our niece, Angellyh, whose life was tragically taken by senseless gun violence. Though her time with us was far too short, her light, kindness, and dreams continue to live on through every effort we make to create change.

Our mission is to honor Angellyh’s legacy by building safer communities in The Bronx and expanding access to opportunity for young people. Through programs grounded in care and prevention, we work to nurture growth, leadership, and positive youth development.

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to live, learn, and grow in a safe, supportive environment. Our community-based primary prevention programs focus on stopping violence before it starts by strengthening protective factors early. We build opportunity, connection, and resilience through education, the arts, technology, workforce development, entrepreneurship, wellness, mentorship, mental health support, and leadership development.

In The Bronx; where families continue to face the lasting impact of poverty, systemic inequities, and violence, we take a comprehensive, community-centered approach to change. Through direct services, partnerships, advocacy, and policy engagement, we work to break cycles of harm and expand pathways to long-term opportunity and stability.

We collaborate with policymakers, community leaders, and organizations to advance solutions that strengthen safety, address root causes of violence, and expand opportunity for the next generation. Our work is grounded in the belief that sustainable change requires collective effort and sustained commitment.

Every initiative of the foundation carries Angellyh’s memory by transforming grief into action. We are committed to uplifting youth and families, strengthening communities, and building a Bronx where every young life is protected and every dream has a chance to succeed.

At the heart of our work is a simple but urgent belief; prevention is power. Real change happens when young people are invested in early, consistently, and without conditions. We create spaces where they are seen, heard, and valued, building trust that leads to transformation. When we invest in their potential today, we are not just changing individual lives, we are reshaping the future of entire communities.
